Benny’s Race Audits

What is it?

Benny’s Race Audits is an early-stage, AI-assisted workflow for reviewing cycling race results, reconciling rider identities, and identifying licensing or eligibility records that need an official’s attention. It brings race lists, public results, and available authoritative license evidence into one auditable report.

Why we're building it

The idea came from a real conversation among Miami Masters cyclists about whether a rider’s license was valid. A small independent test reviewed a 98-rider race field and surfaced records worth investigating. That exposed a broader problem: verifying a full start list manually is time-consuming, while unchecked assumptions can be unfair to riders and organizers alike.

We want to give race promoters and officials a repeatable way to identify discrepancies, review evidence, and make informed decisions—without asking volunteers to search hundreds of records by hand.

How it could work

1. Import a registration list or published race results.
2. Organize riders by event, date, category, and placing; reconcile likely duplicate identities.
3. Compare records with accessible, authoritative licensing information and flag missing, expired, ambiguous, or incompatible statuses.
4. Produce an evidence-linked exception report for an authorized official to review.
5. Record the official’s resolution, including valid one-day licenses or other race-day authorization.

Human decisions, not AI disqualifications. A missing or expired annual license is not proof of ineligibility. One-day licenses, identity ambiguity, event rules, and governing-body procedures must be considered before any action. This is a concept under validation, not a certified eligibility determination system.

What comes next

We’re testing the process against historical South Florida race results, documenting source coverage and false positives, and exploring a lightweight organizer-facing tool for pre-race checks and post-race audits.
